Beautiful beaches to enjoy on your family holidays

For many of us the ideal ‘get away from it all’ holiday involves some very simple ingredients. The recipe for a great holiday is often based around the classic beachside location, along with a decent helping of sun, sea and golden sand.

This is why when you open up any holiday brochure or click onto a holiday website you’ll see picture after picture of long swathes of beautiful beaches nestling next to clear blue waters under sunny skies.

Although every picture tells a story, not all of those images reveal the key beach features, such as if the water is safe for children or ideal for windsurfing .So wherever you are going for your holiday it is a good idea to find out which beaches might best suit what you are looking for; be it peace and quiet, sports activities, bars or other things of interest to do nearby. Check out these beautiful beach destinations.

If you are taking Malta holidays with your family Ghajn Tuffieha and Golden Bay are popular beach choices. The two adjacent bays are on the west coast of Malta and although Golden Bay has one of the islands largest hotels close to the beach it doesn’t get too crowded. Ghajn Tuffieha is less built up and has classic gold-coloured sand and clear sea waters.

For families, there are many cheap holidays in Tunisia on offer all year round, from trusted tour operators such as Thomas Cook. Tunisia is a great destination for finding beaches away from the crowds. Manzil Tmim is a small town well off the beaten tourist track and although it has limited amenities in relation to resorts such as Sousse and Hammamet, the beach is superbly clean and untouched.

Cheap holidays to Turkey offer a large amount of choice when it comes to beaches due to the country’s extensive coastline along the Aegean and Mediterranean Seas. Antalya has a mix of fantastic beaches and modern attractions, such as the Beach Park, which features the spectacular Aqua Land waterslide and is home to dolphins, sea lions and white whales. At the other end of the scale, Belek is famous for its white sand beaches surrounded by pine forests.

Further afield, anyone planning Goa holidays has a wealth of choice from some of the very best beaches in the world. Goa’s northern stretch of coastline is where you will find Arambol, which is something of an ‘alternative lifestyle’ destination of choice for many travellers. Just north of the town itself you can find the peace and tranquility of Keri beach which offers almost total privacy.
