Looking for something to do with the kids this Easter break? The Cake & Bake Show is coming to Manchester April 5-7 and is sure to put a smile on all the family’s faces with demos from the nation’s favourite baking stars, family and school bake offs, hands-on cake decorating activities and hundreds of stands selling tasty bakes and the latest baking equipment.
The Cake & Bake Show – the UK’s biggest experiential event dedicated to all things baking – launched in London in 2012, attracting the biggest names in the business. All the most popular star speakers from the London event – from Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood to renowned patissier Eric Lanlard and acclaimed Claire Clark – will be returning to the show, with this year’s Great British Bake Off winner John Whaite (plus many of his fellow contestants from the series), heading up a brand new feature for Manchester – The Sainsbury’s Competition Theatre. The GBBO stars will be mentoring teams of competitors in a series of live bake offs, while the judges of ITV’s new show Britain’s Best Bakery, Mich Turner and Peter Sidwell, will also be hosting their own baking challenges in the purpose built competition tent.
Paul Hollywood will again be judging Grainchain.com’s Family and School Bake Offs, first seen at the show in September. Parent-child and teacher-pupil teams will compete to impress Paul with their baking skills live on stage.
Inspire your budding bakers with interactive and entertaining demos as well as hands on cake decorating and bread making classes for youngsters and families and engage them in the basics of baking and cake decorating.
Other new features for the Manchester show include the ‘Cake Catwalk’ – a fashionista-themed cake competition, the Billington’s Gingerbread Village to explore and The Lakeland Interview Stage – offering visitors the chance to quiz their favourite baking celebrities. A marketplace of over 100 stands offering the latest baking equipment will satisfy every bakers’ needs and for those who just want to enjoy good food, there’ll be an array of artisan produce on sale, with even more breads, scones, pies, brownies, pastries and of course, cakes than 2012.
The Cake & Bake Show Manchester promises three days of informative baking entertainment perfect for a family outing during the Easter holidays.
