A warm and welcoming golf hotel with a spa, pool and gym all set in 300 acres. I stayed only one night and wished I could stay longer. The staff were all very friendly, well-informed and polite. My room was a junior suite which was spacious and clean, has a very comfortable king sized bed with crisp white sheets. It has a small sitting area and sofa bed for under 12s so is ideal for families. They also have connecting rooms for families with older children. The large TV had lots of channels to choose from and I was able to angle it to face wherever I was in the room.

They have two championship golf courses plus three full length academy holes (for the more casual player), a dedicated short game area and a five acre open air grass range. The excellent gym facilities had modern weight machines and the swimming pool and sauna was a great treat after a busy day. They have an informal sports bar with plenty of seating, plus an outside area which serves bar food and has a children’s menu. Breakfast was excellent, fresh and high quality continental buffet as well as cooked to order including full veggie option.

But the pièce de résistance is the brasserie, overlooking the golf green; my evening meal was excellent with an interesting choice for both meat eaters and vegetarians. They are happy to adjust the size of the portions to accommodated children helpings.  They use the best of locally sourced produce and cook it skilfully, well-seasoned and delicious plus friendly attentive service what more could you want?
