Summer fun at Surrey libraries’ Festival for Children

The Surrey Libraries’ Festival for Children is back, bigger and better than ever and families can look forward to seven fun-filled weeks of exciting activities in libraries across Surrey, starting 24 May until 12 JulyFamous authors and illustrators including Fizzlebert Stump author A F Harrold and Beano comic artist Kev F Sutherland  are amongst a host of people lined up to appear.Over 40 activities including Manga, comic art workshops, performance poetry, stop-frame animation, author visits and drumming workshops will entertain children up to 12.Children can make a stop-frame animation to view on screen with Jellytree productions and create their own stories from beginning to end with Celebrate My Library, a project that helps us to put our libraries at the heart of every community.They can grab the chance to draw with Beano and Dr Who Adventures writer and illustrator Kev F Sutherland; write poems with Martin Daws, Young People’s Laureate for Wales and create comic stories with Mo-Bot-High author Neill Cameron. Jane Lawes will talk about her ‘Gymstars’ series and props from Snow White, The Huntsman, Batman and other fabulous films will be on show.
