Godalming Borough Hall’s ‘Giant’ Family Pantomime: Jack and the Beanstalk

This festive season, families across Surrey are invited to climb the beanstalk with Jack and the Beanstalk, playing at Godalming Borough Hall from 14-28 December 2024. This “giant” pantomime promises a delightful mix of music, dance, and laughter with a professional cast, including West End stars, vibrant costumes, and thrilling performances suitable for all ages.

Pay What You Can Scheme Returns

In the spirit of making theatre accessible to all, the popular Pay What You Can scheme will once again be available at this year’s panto, ensuring more families can experience the joy of pantomime. Now in its sixth year, this initiative aims to make live theatre more affordable for everyone. This year, the price for the relaxed and signed performance has also been reduced by £3 to £15, providing additional support to families.

Charlotte Wyschna of Wysch Productions, said: “We’re thrilled to announce Jack and the Beanstalk as Godalming’s 2024 pantomime. With a brilliant script by Andrew Pollard and a top-notch cast with many West End credits, this year’s show promises to be a magical, laughter-filled experience. If you know a family who may struggle to attend at full ticket price, please encourage them to get in touch – we’re committed to making pantomime accessible to everyone. We look forward to seeing you ‘up the beanstalk’ this December!”

Star-studded Cast Featuring West End Performers

This year’s panto features an exceptional lineup, including West End Panto Dame Mark Pearce (Les Misérables, Groundhog Day), who will take on the role of Dame Trott, alongside Jessi O’Donnell (Wicked) as Pat the Cow and Nick Wyschna (The Mousetrap) making his debut as the villainous Nightshade. Additional cast members include Shakira Rattray as Jill, Pash Trenear as Jack, and Rosie Carter as the Fairy. They are joined by a lively ensemble, promising a performance that will captivate audiences young and old alike.

Accessible and Relaxed Performance

To cater to all, there will be a relaxed and British Sign Language (BSL) signed performance on Saturday, 14 December at 6:30pm. This show has been thoughtfully adapted for individuals on the autism spectrum, those with sensory and communication needs, and anyone who would benefit from a more relaxed environment. Tickets for this accessible performance are priced at £15.
