The Montagu Arms invites explorers of all ages to take a walk on the wild side this February half term with a guided woodland experience in partnership with Wild New Forest, including a two-night stay with breakfast and dinner.

Settle in for your stay in one of the hotel’s stunning Family Suite or Courtyard Rooms, with views over the picturesque and expansive grounds and plenty of space for up to families of four – as well as four-legged friends! On arrival, little ones will discover an activity pack including the Bumblebee Conservation Trust colouring packs, a homemade biscuit inspired by the free-roaming donkeys of Beaulieu, a personal welcome letter and a bottle of Bramley Little B Bubble Bath for some pampering befitting of a true VILP (Very Important Little Person).

After a blissful night’s sleep, you’ll join Wild New Forest’s knowledgeable guides for a hosted breakfast, before heading out to local beauty spot, Culverley, to explore the New Forest’s enchanting world of fungi. Discover the mysteries of mushrooms and toadstools and learn to identify various species and their unique ecological roles.

After your walk, retreat to the roaring fire in the hotel’s lounge for a warming cup of hot chocolate and some gingerbread cookies. If you’ve worked up an appetite, head to welcoming on-site gastropub Monty’s Inn for some hearty, homemade classics where kids can enjoy tasty tomato pasta, sausages, cheeseburgers, or fish and chips – all served with greens, peas or baked beans. Grown-ups can feast on a range of dishes showcasing the spectacular produce straight from the restaurant’s bountiful kitchen garden as well as from across The New Forest and neighbouring coastal counties.

The two-night ‘Wild New Forest Break’ is available to book from 20 to 21 February and is priced from £538 per room (inclusive of breakfast, dinner, and guided experience with Wild New Forest).
