Christmas is coming to Glasgow, with the full cast announced for Scrooge the Musical, a festive stage adaptation of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol.
The musical will run at SEC Armadillo from 12 December 2026 to 10 January 2027, giving families plenty of opportunities to enjoy a Christmas theatre trip during the school holidays.
Scottish music legend Marti Pellow will play the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge, joined by comedian and actor Karen Dunbar as the Ghost of Christmas Past and Still Game favourite Gavin Mitchell as Jacob Marley.
The production is directed by award-winning director Thom Southerland and brings Leslie Bricusse’s much-loved Christmas musical to the stage.
A Christmas classic with a musical twist
Based on Dickens’ timeless A Christmas Carol, Scrooge the Musical follows Ebenezer Scrooge as he is visited by a series of supernatural Christmas spirits who force him to look back at his life and reconsider what really matters.
The production features familiar songs from Leslie Bricusse’s score, including “Thank You Very Much”, “I Like Life”, “Father Christmas” and “December the Twenty-Fifth”.
Joining the headline cast is a company of West End and Scottish musical theatre performers, including Kelly Mathieson as Isabel, Ruairidh McDonald as Bob Cratchit, SuRie as Mrs Cratchit, Martin Callaghan as the Ghost of Christmas Present and Valerie Cutko as the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come.
Other cast members include Kristofer Harding as Mr Fezziwig, Wendy Mae Brown as Mrs Fezziwig, Samuel Thomas as Young Ebby, Gabriella Williams as Miss Dilber and Shona White as Thomasina Jenkins.
In a new twist for this production, the traditionally male role of Tom Jenkins has been gender-swapped, with Shona White playing Thomasina Jenkins and performing the popular musical number “Thank You Very Much”.
Young performers join the cast
The production will also feature a young local cast, with Louis Davies and Percy Tulley sharing the role of Tiny Tim Cratchit, Lily Hanna playing Kathy Cratchit, and Sebastian Cervenec and Tobias Cervenec sharing the role of Boy.
The adult ensemble includes performers with credits across productions such as Wicked, Little Women, My Fair Lady, The Phantom of the Opera, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, War Horse, Cats, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and Porgy and Bess.
A festive family theatre trip
With its combination of familiar Christmas songs, colourful musical theatre, Dickensian storytelling and ghostly encounters, Scrooge the Musical offers a festive theatre experience for families and Christmas fans visiting Glasgow over the holidays.
