Christmas at Silverstone returns to the home of the British Grand Prix in Northamptonshire from Friday 11 December to Thursday 31 December 2026 (closed Christmas Day). Families can drive their own car around the F1 circuit through a festive light show, ice skate beside the start/finish line and help Santa’s elves in a real pit garage.
The event also brings live music, festive food and drink, curling, racing simulators and a close-up look at F1 cars, supercars and MotoGP bikes.
Lap of Lights at Silverstone
The centrepiece is Lap of Lights, billed as the only festive experience in the world where visitors can drive an F1 circuit after dark. Families stay snug in their own car as famous corners like Copse are lit up by 10 light installations, around 7,000 lights and 35 lasers sweeping across the track.
Tickets are priced per car rather than per person, so the whole family can come along. Silverstone recommends allowing about an hour for the experience.
Ice Trak: skate beside the F1 grid
This summer, the garage that housed Lando Norris’s car at the British Grand Prix becomes an ice rink. Ice Trak overlooks the F1 start/finish line, so skaters can glide past the grid where champions have stood.
Santa’s Garage
Santa’s grotto gets the pit lane treatment this year. Set in the F1 garages, children become Future Elf Engineers, joining the elf pit crew to give Santa’s sleigh a full pit stop so it’s race-ready for Christmas Eve. Santa waits at the chequered flag to greet every young engineer, and each child takes home a toy.
