The CONNETIX Light Rocket Pack is a new 30-piece magnetic tile set built around a rechargeable light tile, turning children’s creations into glowing rockets, space stations and night lights. It’s the latest light-up set from the Australian tile brand, costs £45 on Amazon UK and makes a bright gift idea for space-mad kids this Christmas.
How the CONNETIX light tile works
The light tile is the heart of the set. It’s the same size as a standard square, so it fits anywhere a square would normally go and slots neatly into any build.
A single button controls everything. There are three brightness settings, and children can light up one side of the tile for soft, colourful shadows or both sides for a build that glows from within. It recharges with the included cable, so there are no batteries to replace.
The effect is best in darker rooms, where light passing through the coloured tiles shifts and blends into new shades.

Play ideas
The obvious build is a rocket ready for lift-off, but the set lends itself to plenty more. CONNETIX suggests space stations, cosmic creatures and even a homemade bedside lamp.
The adjustable brightness lets children set the mood, from a calm, cosy glow at bedtime to a bright showpiece. Along the way they can experiment with how colours mix, how reflections form and how shadows change, which is where the STEAM learning comes in.
The Light Rocket Pack is fully compatible with the rest of the CONNETIX range, so families who already own tiles can add the light tile to bigger builds.
I’ve ordered magnetic tiles from other brands online, and CONNETIX feels much more premium by comparison. That quality, plus the glowing light tile, makes the Light Rocket Pack a real step up for magnetic tile play.
At £45, it’s a good-sized starter set on its own, but it really shines as an add-on for families with an existing CONNETIX collection.
