Christmas at Silverstone returns this December, turning the home of the British Grand Prix into a festive day out for the whole family. The Northamptonshire circuit will open from Friday 11 December to Thursday 31 December 2026 (closed Christmas Day), with a drive-through light show, ice skating in the F1 garages, a pit lane Santa’s grotto and plenty more.
Here’s what families can expect.
Lap of Lights: drive an F1 circuit after dark
The headline attraction is Lap of Lights, billed as the only festive experience in the world where visitors can drive an iconic Formula 1 circuit after dark. You take your own car onto the track as famous corners and straights are lit up with lights and lasers.
Think Copse Corner glowing in the dark and laser beams across the night sky, while everyone stays warm and snug inside the car. Tickets are priced per car rather than per person, so the whole family can come along together.
Santa’s Garage at Christmas at Silverstone
Santa’s grotto gets the pit lane treatment this year. Santa’s Garage is set right in the heart of the F1 garages, where world champions have sprayed the champagne with their teams.
Rudolph’s sleigh is in for a full pitstop to get it race-ready for Christmas Eve, and children join the crew as Future Elf Engineers. At the chequered flag, Santa will be waiting to greet each young engineer with a memento to take home. Santa’s Garage tickets start from £18, and some dates have already sold out, so it’s worth booking early.
Ice Trak: skate overlooking the start/finish line
This summer, the garage that housed Lando Norris’s car during the British Grand Prix is being turned into an ice rink. Ice Trak lets families swap race boots for skate blades and glide beside the grid, overlooking the F1 start/finish line. Tickets start from £8.50 per person.
Curling, karting, simulators and more
There’s lots more to fill a festive day out:
- Curling inside the F1 garages, new for 2026, from £33 per lane
- Kart Silverstone, open throughout the event for budding racers
- Racing simulators to try a lap of the circuit
- F1 cars, supercars and MotoGP bikes on display up close
- Silverstone Museum, plus live music and festive food and drink
Families booking Lap of Lights, Ice Trak and Santa’s Garage together can save 10% with a Family Bundle. Lap of Lights and Santa’s Garage ticket holders also get 10% off Kart Silverstone sessions.
