Winter by the River, London Bridge City’s riverside winter festival, returns on 10 November 2026, bringing independent Christmas markets, global street food, Swift Stone Curling and live music to the banks of the Thames. The festival runs until 3 January and is open daily from 11am to 10pm.
Set between London Bridge and Tower Bridge, it’s one of the capital’s most popular seasonal spots, mixing independent traders and festive pop-ups with some of the best river views in the city.
Christmas shopping at Winter by the River
The market is made up of a village of boutique stalls selling handmade gifts. Look out for Art Deco-inspired rings and chains from Linnet Jewellery, embroidered keepsakes from Luxe Christmas and hand-painted recycled glass baubles from Star Baubles.
Other cabins stock curated teas, handcrafted decorations, sustainable skincare, traditional German wooden ornaments, intricate paper art and ethically sourced crystals, so there’s plenty for anyone hunting for something a little different.
There’s also a Community Cabin, which brings together charities and social enterprises for families who want to give something back this Christmas.
Festive food and treats
Hungry visitors can tuck into towering Yorkshire puddings from Flying Pig Hog Roast, bratwurst and Berliner Currywurst from Brat Haüs, or pasta finished in a giant wheel of cheese at The Cheese Wheel.
Further afield flavours include Lebanese street food from Lil Watan, roti rolls and masala chai from Roti Run, tacos from Mexclub and Himalayan momos from Nepalese Delight.
For a sweet treat, there are warm churros, French canelés from Cornucopia, chocolate-dipped fruit and loaded hot chocolates.
The Clubhouse rooftop
The Clubhouse is back at the heart of the festival for 2026, with an enclosed, heated rooftop offering panoramic views across the city. It hosts weekly live music and seasonal activities, and the menu includes hot chocolates, mulled wine and soft drinks alongside cocktails, beer and wine.
Swift Stone Curling
Swift Stone Curling, a fun take on traditional ice curling, returns to London Bridge City Pier for another season. Games are played in a cosy, glass-enclosed venue overlooking the Thames, with a bar and weekly DJs.
Each lane takes up to eight players and sessions last 50 minutes, making it a fun option for family get-togethers and festive outings. Sessions are available to book now.
