LEGOLAND Windsor offers three tiers of VIP experience, priced from £209 to £399 per person, plus a specialist experience for young LEGO fans called Model Maker for the Day. With prices well above a standard ticket, is the upgrade worth it for families?
What’s included in each LEGOLAND VIP tier?
VIP Silver Experience, from £209 per person, is billed as a self-guided day out. It includes all-day entry, unlimited Fastrack access to skip standard queues, complimentary parking at the Resort Hotel car park, and early park access through the hotel. Guests also get a VIP lanyard, a VIP pop badge, an unlimited digital photo pass, and for 3 to 15 year olds, the LEGOLAND Driving Licence experience and Panning for Gold, plus a LEGO gift. Over-16s get a VIP souvenir instead.
VIP Gold Experience, from £263 per person, includes everything in the Silver tier, plus a premium VIP Freestyle drinks vessel with unlimited refills and a meal voucher for the day.
VIP Platinum Experience, from £399 per person, is a hosted rather than self-guided day. Fastrack access is upgraded to VIP priority ride access, and guests get a private VIP host for the day, unlimited dining across the park, and a round of Adventure Golf, on top of everything included in the lower tiers.
What is Model Maker for the Day?
Aimed at 7 to 15 year olds, Model Maker for the Day starts from £200 per person and offers a very different kind of VIP experience. Guests get a private VIP host from 8:30am to 2pm, breakfast at Bricks Family Restaurant, and exclusive early access into the park before it opens, complete with their own LEGOLAND polo shirt and name badge.
The highlight is exclusive access inside Miniland, where children get to build a bespoke LEGO model with tips from their host, then place their own Minilander figure into the display, becoming a permanent part of it for future visitors to spot. The day also includes lunch in City Walk and VIP priority ride access with the host. Merlin markets it as a birthday gift experience as much as a day out.
Is the LEGOLAND VIP experience worth it?
For families visiting during peak times, such as school holidays or weekends, when queues can eat into hours of the day, the unlimited Fastrack access alone may justify the Silver tier’s cost for some. The complimentary hotel parking and early entry also add genuine time savings before the park even opens to standard ticket holders.
The Gold tier’s extras, unlimited drink refills and a meal voucher, are more of a convenience than a game-changer, so families mainly after shorter queues may find Silver sufficient. Platinum is aimed squarely at those wanting a fully hosted, hassle-free day rather than a budget-conscious visit, given the jump to £399 per person.
Model Maker for the Day sits apart from the other tiers. It’s less about queue-skipping and more about a one-off, memorable experience for a LEGO-obsessed child, which makes it easier to justify as an occasional treat or birthday gift rather than a regular visit upgrade.
As with most VIP theme park upgrades, the value comes down to group size, ages, and how much queuing you’re trying to avoid. For a family of four, the cost multiplies quickly across any tier, so it’s worth weighing against a standard ticket plus a Fastrack add-on before booking.
