Families visiting Blenheim Palace this summer can step back in time as the historic Oxfordshire estate welcomes Dinosaurs Are Forever, a new outdoor exhibition created by British artist and television presenter Jay Jay Burridge.
The exhibition opened this week at the UNESCO World Heritage Site and runs until 1 November 2026, giving visitors the chance to come face-to-face with five enormous, reimagined Megalosaurus skeletons.
Meet the dinosaurs
Set within the grounds of Blenheim Palace, the exhibition follows the pathway from the Lower Water Terraces, with the sculptures positioned against views of the South Lawn.
Each life-size Megalosaurus sculpture measures around 9 metres long, creating an impressive sight for visitors of all ages.
The exhibition takes inspiration from Megalosaurus, the world’s first scientifically named dinosaur and a discovery that helped transform our understanding of prehistoric life.
Rather than traditional museum reconstructions, Burridge’s sculptures have been created using advanced modern materials and contemporary engineering techniques. The result is an unusual combination of palaeontology, art, engineering and technology, bringing the prehistoric creatures into the 21st century.
A dinosaur adventure for families
The outdoor exhibition offers an opportunity for children to learn more about dinosaurs and prehistoric life while exploring the grounds of one of Britain’s most famous historic houses.
Dinosaurs Are Forever is free with any valid Blenheim Palace ticket or Annual Pass, so families visiting the Palace can add the exhibition to their day without paying an additional admission fee.
Meet the animals at Marlborough Mini Farm
There is also something rather more cuddly to discover at Blenheim Palace this summer.
The Marlborough Mini Farm is welcoming families until 1 September 2026, with a collection of rare and traditional British breeds.
The mini farm includes shaggy Cotswold sheep, Berkshire pigs, Buff Orpington chickens and English goats. All the breeds are recognised by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust and are considered native livestock breeds at risk, making the farm an opportunity for children to see some of Britain’s traditional animals up close.
With dinosaurs on one side of the estate and rare-breed farm animals on the other, there is plenty for families to discover during a summer visit to Blenheim Palace.
