Buddy the Elf is heading to Tunbridge Wells this Christmas as Trinity Theatre brings the much-loved festive favourite to the stage.
Following the success of last year’s Nativity! The Musical, Trinity Theatre Productions is getting ready for another Christmas celebration, with Elf The Musical running from Friday 11 to Sunday 27 December 2026.
Based on the hit festive film, Elf The Musical follows Buddy, a human baby who accidentally finds his way into Santa’s sack and is taken back to the North Pole, where he is raised by elves.
There’s just one problem – Buddy isn’t exactly elf-sized. As he grows up, he realises that being a human among elves isn’t quite as straightforward as he had hoped.
When Santa eventually reveals the truth about Buddy’s past, he sets off for New York City to find his birth father. Unfortunately, his father turns out to be firmly on the naughty list.
What follows is a hilarious and heartwarming adventure as Buddy brings his unique brand of Christmas chaos to Manhattan while discovering more about family, friendship and love.
And when Santa’s sleigh crash-lands in Central Park, Buddy finds himself with a very important job to do – helping to save Christmas.
A festive treat for all the family
Audiences can expect plenty of Christmas fun, with catchy songs, energetic choreography, comedy and magical moments throughout the production.
The show promises a giant candy cane journey from the North Pole, performances from talented local community performers and even an audience snowball fight.
Jason Lower, Creative Director, said:
“We’re thrilled to be creating another production that’s made in Tunbridge Wells this Christmas. Elf The Musical is a wonderfully joyful show, full of humour, heart and a few surprises and we can’t wait to welcome audiences of all ages to Trinity Theatre this December.”
The production’s headline sponsor, Berry & Lamberts Solicitors, is also supporting the show.
Paul Reader, Managing Partner at Berry & Lamberts Solicitors, said:
“We are delighted to be the headline sponsor of Trinity Theatre’s production of Elf, helping to bring people together through the magic of live theatre this festive season. Community and connection are values we share deeply with Trinity Theatre, and we are proud to play a part in a production that will inspire audiences and everyone involved, both on and off the stage.”
Elf The Musical is based on the book by Bob Martin and Thomas Meehan, with an original score by Matt Sklar and Chad Beguelin.
Whether your family already knows and loves Buddy from the film or you’re discovering his Christmas adventure for the first time, this festive production promises plenty of songs, laughs, Christmas magic and feel-good fun.
