You’ve been served – catch Wimbledon on the big screen at Rooftop Film Club this July

Rooftop Film Club, London’s original outdoor cinema in the sky, has released its lineup of films for July at Bussey Building, Peckham, and at the sky-high escape in Roof East, Stratford. Whether you’re looking to kickstart the summer with a thrilling action or adventure movie, or wanting to heat up with a fiery romance, the blend of cityscape views and the summer breeze creates the perfect environment to escape from the frenzy of the polls with a film of your choice. The comfortable seating options and cosy waterproof blankets ensure you are well-equipped to enjoy the big-screen al fresco, all with the luxury of having food and drink ordered directly to your seats. Wimbledon
Nothing screams London in the summer more than watching Wimbledon outdoors, Pimms in hand. This July, Rooftop Film Club, Peckham will be offering an ace package where guests can snag themselves a deep cushioned lounge seat to watch the women’s final (July 13) and men’s final (July 14) on the big screen, served with a glass of prosecco and popcorn for £10 pp or upgrade to a bottle of prosecco for £35 for 2 people. Guests can also devour a glass of Pimms and a Wimbledon-themed pizza with shredded courgette and mint with fior di latte and goat cheese for just £15. Pimms lovers can also grab a jug for just £12…score.
East Londoners don’t have to travel far either to catch a match as Rooftop Film Club, Stratford will also be screening the Wimbledon finals.
British Airways presents: Destination Movies
British Airways is bringing the in-flight entertainment experience to the ground. Let British Airways whisk you away to some of its most popular short-haul destinations from London Gatwick and London City Airport, through film. If you are dreaming of an Italian summer, watch Romeo + Juliet (Jul 25, Peckham) or alternatively Sing Street for an Irish break (Jul 26, Stratford). Plus, guests have the chance to win a pair of British Airways Euro Traveller flights at each screening.
In addition to this, every day of the Rooftop Film Club season, two lucky winners (per venue), will be selected at random to receive an exclusive cinema ticket upgrade. Winners will receive a boarding pass granting them an upgrade from standard seating to super comfy luxe seats, resulting in a prime viewing spot. They’ll also receive bottomless popcorn and a bottle of Prosecco to share, making sure the night is off to a flying start – all thanks to British Airways.
July programming
Everyone loves a good summer get-down, which is why July’s theme, Music Movies, is inspiring cinema-goers to feel the beat this season. From spotlighting films about some of the most iconic moments in music history such as Elvis (July 10, Peckham; July 20, Stratford), Bohemian Rhapsody (5 July, Peckham) and Rocketman (6 July, Stratford), to showcasing crowd-pleasing musicals such as Mamma Mia (10 July, Peckham; 19 July, Stratford) Grease (21 July, Peckham) and Moulin Rouge! (11 July, Stratford); guests will find themselves singing from the rooftops this summer.
For St Swithin’s Day, 15th July, movie goers can catch One Day (July 15, Peckham) which has had a resurgence in popularity following Neflix’s series this year. The 2011 movie is an adaptation of David Nicholl’s best-selling book, and follows the intertwined lives of two characters who meet each other on St Swithin’s Day. The movie is a must-watch for romantics who also enjoy a little cry; and who knows who you might meet on this fated day…
For a fun family day out with the kids this summer holiday, an elevated cinema trip could be just the ticket. Catch special sing-along screenings of Encanto (July 7, Peckham), and Frozen (July 28, Peckham) and family classics such as Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (21 July, Stratford), Kung Fu Panda 4 (July 6, Stratford and Peckham) and 90s fave The Parent Trap (July 18, Stratford).
There is no better place to view your favourite cult classics than at Rooftop Film Club. Food and drink
As well as a cocktail special “Strawberries and Cream” (made of gin, Frais de bois & crème de cacao, single cream and fresh strawberries) to enjoy during Wimbledon, there is a wide selection of mouthwatering food and drink on offer. At Peckham, enjoy a sundowner from Bussey Rooftop Bar, from classic cocktails and mocktails, to beer and wine. Share A Slice pizza will also be on hand to serve up delicious, socially good neapolitan pizza. There are also antipasti, sides and scrumptious desserts such as the viral pistachio tiramisu to choose from. You can enjoy food and drink before, during or after your film – anything you need mid-movie, will be delivered directly to your comfy cinema deck chair seat.
At Roof East in Stratford, London’s favourite adult playground, there is a smorgasbord of food and drink including Cheeky Burger, with its mouth-watering beef, chicken or vegan burgers; Piddaji’s traditional Turkish fare with flare; and new for this year, Chick’n’Sours is bringing its drool-worthy fried chicken to the rooftop. There are also four bars on site, offering cocktails, beer, wine, spirits and soft drinks, and there are games to enjoy before or after your film of choice, for the full Roof East experience.
