Graffeg publish two new board books featuring favourite children’s characters

Board books are ideal for babies and young children due to their sturdy, chew-resistant pages that withstand rough handling, making them safe and durable for early readers. The thick pages are easier for tiny hands to grasp, helping to develop motor skills and coordination. Additionally, board books often feature bright colours and simple visuals that engage young minds, making reading sessions both fun and educational. Their compact size and clear layouts support early language and visual recognition, fostering a love for books from a young age.

After publishing their first board books last year, Graffeg’s list continues to grow, with two new titles for early years readers on counting. The two new board books each feature characters from popular picture book series: Fletcher’s Four Seasons and Albert the Tortoise.

Perfect for children under three, these fun and educational titles are ideal for use in nursery classes as well as at home.

Managing Director Peter Gill says, ‘Stepping into board books is a natural extension for Graffeg picture books. Characters Albert the Tortoise and Fletcher, loved by children, can now be enjoyed by parents with youngsters under 3 years.’

Albert 123

Albert 123 is a captivating introduction to numbers for babies and toddlers, blending bright primary colours with clear, engaging visuals tailored for young eyes. This board book follows the endearing tortoise, Albert, on a counting journey, making it perfect for ages 0-3. Eoin Clarke’s illustrations are lively and fun, supporting Ian Brown's simple, rhythmic text. With its sturdy format and attention-grabbing design, Albert 123 is an excellent choice for parents seeking an enjoyable, educational read for early numeracy skills.

Fletcher's Numbers

Learn how to count to ten with Fletcher and his friends from the brilliantly popular Fletcher picture books. Fletcher’s Numbers is a charming board book introducing young children to counting, enriched by beautiful illustrations that capture each season’s unique character. Each page features Fletcher the fox and friends, inviting babies and toddlers to explore numbers in scenes reflecting spring blossoms, autumn leaves, winter snow, and summer greenery. The seasonal visuals are colourful and clear, perfect for early readers learning to identify numbers while experiencing the changing world around them. It’s a delightful choice for parents looking to nurture curiosity in the natural world and early numeracy.
