Val d’Isère, the renowned French Alps ski resort, combines exceptional skiing with family ski-friendly features. With its Family Plus certification and a host of offers, this alpine destination ensures value for money and unforgettable experiences for families.
Save with off-peak skiing
Skiers can enjoy uncrowded slopes and exclusive discounts by visiting at the start or end of the season. Early birds can take part in First Tracks, running from 30th November to 1st December 2024, with 30% off ski passes booked through Val d’Isère Reservation.
April skiers can enjoy Ski and Chill, featuring a packed schedule of events and an incredible 40% off ski passes and accommodation. From mid-April to 4th May 2025, families can explore slopes without the stress of queues.
Free ski passes for children under eight for family ski
Young adventurers can ski for free across the Tignes-Val d’Isère area, from the base to the glacier peaks. Families can explore attractions like the Val Kids area and Village Perdu, nestled in the Etroits forest at 2,000m. These free adventure zones feature treehouses, walkways, and a relaxing outdoor area.
Beginner-friendly skiing in Solaise
For those new to skiing, the Solaise sector offers a calm, family-friendly experience. The €47 daily lift pass provides access to three blue and nine green slopes, plus magic carpets like PIM-PAM and POUM for beginners.
Families can also enjoy the Val Kids area, with an adventure slope, sledging zone, and a play area to introduce children to mountain life. Ski lessons from professional instructors ensure young learners build confidence on the slopes.
Affordable dining options
Dining in Val d’Isère caters to all tastes and budgets. Savour hearty meals at La Cascade on the Pisaillas glacier or enjoy family-style dishes at Les Marmottes on the Bellevarde side.
Budget-conscious skiers can use the Solaise and La Daille lounges, offering picnic facilities, cosy dining areas, and play zones. The Lounge de Solaise even features a café, gallery, and postcard service.
Free activities and eco-friendly transport
Families can try free après-ski activities like snooc, airboarding, and torch-lit descents by ESF instructors. Festive events include Santa Claus's arrival and alpine ski races under the stars.
Getting around is simple with the resort's free Village Shuttle Bus, running until 2am. These eco-friendly shuttles use biofuel or electric power, supporting Val d’Isère’s sustainability efforts.
