Adolescent Wonderland - Last Chance
Daily until Thursday 28 November, 10am-5.30pm
This powerful photography exhibition by Naomi Hobson celebrates the individuality and spirit of First Nations youth in Coen, northern Queensland. Through vibrant portraits, Hobson captures moments of self-expression and cultural pride, highlighting the importance of preserving tradition. This is a must-see, and it’s free to view.

Family Threads - New Exhibition
From Monday 11 November (online), Tuesday 12 November at Canvas & Cream, Forest Hill
This online and in-person photography exhibition explores family history through the lens of African and Caribbean culture. Family Threads brings together personal memories, migration stories, and cultural heritage. Visit online or explore it at Canvas & Cream in Forest Hill, free of charge.

Natural History Pop-up
Daily, 10am-5.30pm
Discover unique specimens from the Horniman’s natural history collection, including fossils, songbirds, and shells. Although the famous Walrus is in storage until the Natural History Gallery reopens in 2026, visitors can still explore Earth’s biodiversity through this dynamic display.

Special Events for Families

The Enchanted Cinema: The Snowman & Orchestra of Seasons
Friday 22 to Sunday 24 November
Join The Enchanted Cinema at the Horniman and participate in creating live sound effects for beloved animations, including The Snowman and My Neighbour Totoro. Suitable for children aged 4-12, this hands-on event will bring cinema to life with music and movement.

Family Craft Saturdays
Saturdays, 2-4pm
Enjoy crafting inspired by the Horniman’s collection. In November, create autumn leaf people, hedgehogs, and ink-blown tree paintings, with sessions to celebrate National Tree Week. These volunteer-run sessions are free and suitable for children aged 3+.

Tuesdays, 3.30pm
Join Hey Jukebox! every Tuesday afternoon in the Music Gallery for a fresh playlist each month, inspired by music from around the world. Drop in to hear November’s selection.

Hear it Live!

Experience a live performance from the Horniman’s new Musicians in Residence. This month’s line-up includes Zimbabwean mbira music, punk rap, and traditional Chinese dizi flute. Free to enjoy, drop in to discover new sounds.

Guided Tours - Welcome to the Horniman
Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3pm, Sundays at 11.30am
If you’re new to the Horniman, these short guided tours provide a friendly introduction to the museum’s galleries and history. Tours last about 15 minutes and are suitable for all ages.
