Medlock Square joins Manchester’s #MCRMonsters Halloween trail

Medlock Square in East Manchester joins the #MCRMonsters Halloween trail from 24 to 31 October, with spooky food and drink specials over half-term.

Medlock Square in East Manchester is celebrating Halloween for the first time this year, joining the city’s giant inflatable #MCRMonsters trail from Saturday 24 to Saturday 31 October 2026. The trail runs right through the October half-term, and the destination is pairing it with a week of Halloween food and drink specials at its restaurants and bars.

The Medlock Monster joins the #MCRMonsters trail

#MCRMonsters is celebrating its tenth anniversary in 2026, with giant inflatable monsters popping up at locations right across Manchester. It is a free, playful way for families to explore the city over half-term, spotting each monster as you go.

This year Medlock Square joins the trail for the first time. Look up to spot The Medlock Monster, perched on top of The Medlock, a Radisson Blu hotel, which adds a brand new landmark to the monster hunt.

Halloween food and drink at Medlock Square

Alongside the trail, venues across Medlock Square are serving seasonal specials from 24 to 31 October. Zadie’s and Little Beast are running their Halloween offerings on their usual opening days, which excludes Mondays and Tuesdays. Brickworks Market Hall will open on selected days only.

Please note that several of the specials are cocktails, so they are strictly for the grown-ups in your group.

Little Beast

Little Beast serves seasonal small plates inspired by the twelve moons of the year. Its Halloween menu includes the Toffee Apple Gimlet, a grown-up take on a childhood favourite made with Sipsmith gin and a house-made Gala apple and caramel cordial.

For pudding, the Salted Caramel and Apple Tatin is inspired by warm apple crumble shared around the family table. It brings together baked apple, salted caramel and cinnamon crumble with white chocolate mousse, yoghurt sorbet and thyme oil.

Zadie’s

Zadie’s blends Japanese and Italian influences in an Itameshi menu. For Halloween it is pouring The Jade Phantom, an emerald green cocktail made with Tapatío tequila, yuzu, matcha liqueur, green Chartreuse and Dalston’s peach soda.

On Friday 30 October, Zadie’s is also hosting a live ballet performance, accompanied by a live band throughout the evening.

Brickworks Market Hall

Brickworks Market Hall will open over the Halloween period on selected Manchester City home match days and Co-op Live event days. From 12pm on Monday 26, Wednesday 28, Thursday 29, Friday 30 and Saturday 31 October, visitors can try Frankenstein’s Midori, a Midori slushie with grenadine, lemon and lime. More details about the market hall are due to be announced soon.

Making a half-term break of it

Medlock Square sits alongside Co-op Live and the Etihad Stadium, and with Halloween falling in the October half-term it makes an easy stop for families combining the monster trail with a Manchester day out.

For anyone staying over, The Medlock, a Radisson Blu hotel, is located within Medlock Square and is currently offering 10% off its best available rate as part of its opening offer.
