Reignite your sense of adventure with simple, everyday activities
Why do Brits lose their adventurous spark?
According to new research by Dacia, many Brits feel their sense of adventure fades by the age of 36. The main reasons include:
- Physical and mental fatigue (53%)
- Financial pressure (43%)
- Being stuck in a routine (39%)
- Increased responsibilities (31%)
- Shifting priorities (28%)
Interestingly, Gen Z believes their adventurous spark dims as early as 13, 23 years earlier than the national average. This signals a worrying decline in Brits’ venturesome ways.
The cost of adventure
Nearly two-thirds (67%) of Brits feel they need to spend up to £50 for an adventure to feel worthwhile. On average, people spend £505 annually on adventures, despite having access to affordable, even free, activities.
The desire to rediscover that sense of adventure
Despite these barriers, over half (52%) of Brits aim to rekindle their adventurous spirit in 2025. Many plan to:
- Spend more time in nature (42%)
- Take more personal time (40%)
- Try new hobbies or activities (37%)
The benefits of everyday adventures are clear: reduced stress and anxiety (41%), improved fulfilment (38%), better sleep (38%), and boosted confidence (32%).
