Free advice for parents of children with learning difficulties

Are you a parent of a child with learning difficulties living in the Harrow or Pinner area? Need some expert advice on how best to help your son or daughter? If so help is at hand at the Harrow Learning and Development Exhibition on Sunday 17th March, where a host of professionals including local therapists, practitioners, tutors and experts are offering free advice on learning difficulties and behaviour management. Harrow Learning and Development Exhibition is free to enter and open from 11am to 4pm at Nower Hill High School, George V Avenue, Pinner, Middlesex, HA5 5RP. There is free parking on the main road outside the school.

The Dore Team will be available during the exhibition to give advice to Harrow and Pinner parents about The DORE Programme, a personalised exercise programme for people with dyslexia, dyspraxia and Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) – reported outcomes for which include improved balance, co-ordination and concentration. The DORE Programme has been successfully completed by more than 30,000 individuals, most of them children. DORE is specifically designed to give children and adults with learning difficulties a tailored programme which can be carried out at home, after an initial assessment at the Dore Centre in Stratford-upon-Avon. ,

One enthusiastic mum recently contacted DORE to report on her daughter’s progress, saying: “Within 9 months of starting DORE, Katie’s reading age in English had gone up 18 months and she finished primary school with a reading age in Welsh of 12 years 4 months, one of the best in her year”.

Other exhibitors at the Harrow Learning and Development Exhibition include specialists in speech and language, occupational therapy, neuro-developmental therapy, behavioural optometry, brain integration therapy, movement-based programmes, and multi-sensory tuition.
