Delicate first steps

From your child’s first steps, through developing independence with motor skill until they are ready to run!

Tips on Shoe buying

Look for flexibility, lightness, breathability, durability, softness. Flexible, is especially important respecting the delicate anatomy of the foot, and making the shoe extremely comfortable.

It is important that little feet touch the ground without too much compact lightly. So look for anti-shock system. Primigi shoes has an “air chamber” in the sole and heel, that absorbs the micro impacts of walking, making each step more comfortable and safer.

Practical, hygienic and it’s back to playing

Buy children’s shoes with removable insole so they can be washed and dried, so the shoes are always fresh and clean.

Freedom of movement is needed.

Shoes are should be roomy, carefully designed, and measure to leave the right amount of space for feet to move safely and freely. Protect the feet with a cushion of soft padding without restricting them.

Safe and natural beauty

Buckles, grommets and all the metal parts of Primigi shoes are completely nickel-free.

Check that the shoes have nothing that can cause an unpleasant allergic reaction.

The leather linings are “Chrome” which means they are tanned without Chromium. This ensure that the environment inside the shoe is even more natural and safer.

The right shoe size

Your child’s feet grow almost visibly! To be certain that the shoe fits properly, just keep a few things in mind.

  • Make sure the heel is against the back part of the shoe.
  • Keep the sole of the foot very relaxed.
  • Press down lightly at the big toe to check whether there is approximately 1 centimetre between the toes and the toe end of the shoe.
  • If your child is very young, open the shoe as much as possible, and push the foot forward as far as possible. If you can insert a finger into the space that remains between the heel and the inner back part of the shoe, it is the right size.

When to get new shoes

Children’s feet are constantly changing. It is important to watch their growth, which often happens in spurts. Generally new shoes should be purchased:

From 1-3 years old every 40 days, approximately 2 months

From 3 to 6 years old approximately every 3-4 months

From 6-10 years old every 4 -5 months
