  • £5,000/ €5,000 bursary for their department to improve the care of parents and babies. For example, to purchase equipment, provide resources for parents, fund training, improve practice/care, or support further research relating to pregnancy, baby care, and neonatal care.
  • A bulk donation of WaterWipes® to the winner’s organisation.
  • A WaterWipes® Pure Foundation Fund trophy.
  • A £500/€500 gift card and flowers.

Alongside WaterWipes® on the judging panel this year are representatives from the Irish Neonatal Health Alliance (INHA), Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO), The Neonatal Nurses Association (NNA), and UK premature and sick baby charity, Bliss, who will review all nominations and select the four final winners.

“We are thrilled to bring back WaterWipes® Pure Foundation Fund and honour healthcare professionals, who are the great protectors of our health and our future generations,” said Brogan Chesters, Brand Marketing Manager at WaterWipes®. “Each year we are so touched to hear about the impact that they make on their patients. HCPs are the epitome of care, compassion, and dedication; it is an honour to give back to them.”

Caroline Lee-Davey, Chief Executive of premature and sick baby charity Bliss, said: “We’re delighted to be supporting WaterWipes once again with the Pure Foundation Fund – this fantastic initiative continues to go from strength to strength and it is an honour to be part of the judging panel in 2023”

Cheryl Titherly, Manager of the Neonatal Nurses Association says, ‘The NNA is delighted to support WaterWipes® and the Pure Foundation Fund, and we are pleased to be part of an initiative that recognises the excellent care provided by health care professionals every day.’

Steve Pitman, Head of Education and Professional Development INMO commented; ‘We are delighted to support the PFF for the fourth year. The bursary is a fabulous way of honouring and celebrating midwives, neonatal nurses, public health and community nurses.’

Founder of the Irish Neonatal Health Alliance, Mandy Daly says ‘The INHA is delighted to support the Pure Foundation Fund which rewards excellence in the areas of maternity, neonatal and public health. It’s a wonderful opportunity to shine a light on the contribution of individuals who make a difference to the lives of families with newborns.’

The Pure Foundation Fund has helped support a vast number of healthcare professionals and patients over the past three years and aims to continue to do so by improving the lives of parents and families this year.

Pure Foundation Fund 2021 Ireland winner Pauline O’Connor spoke of her win and how much this meant to her and her team: “Part of my job as a Public Health Nurse is to provide support, advice and guidance to parents and to be recognised for this is so overwhelming. Becoming a parent can be challenging in many ways and it is lovely to think we can provide such a positive influence for parents. Thank you to WaterWipes® for their generous bursary which I have used to set up a breast-feeding support room in our Primary Care Centre.”

To submit a nomination, entries must include an example of how the healthcare professional has provided excellent care for parents and their babies during the pregnancy, delivery or postnatal journey. If known, the entry should also outline what the bursary fund could be used for, and for all nominees in Ireland, they must be a member of the INMO.
