GET SET FOR A GIANT SUMMER ADVENTURE AT THE LOST GARDENS OF HELIGAN

Meet giants big and small this summer in Heligan’s brand-new Jungle Adventure Trail

An adventure of enormous proportions is on offer at The Lost Gardens of Heligan this summer with Jungle Giants, a larger-than-life experience promising big discoveries and even bigger escapades.

Epic adventurers are invited to set off on a scavenger hunt across Heligan looking for giants within nature; plants and critters with legendary superpowers. The new Jungle Adventure Trail will take in Heligan’s mammoth Jungle Garden – a place made for hide and seek on a mega scale – and learn how even the teeniest, tiniest organisms have exciting stories to tell.

The trail swishes through the huge wildflower meadow where giant-hunters can be the first to take a seat in a brand-new Giant Listening Cone and discover what it’s like to have superhuman hearing. From the buzz of bees to the swaying of cornflowers in the summer breeze, this immersive megaphone amplifies the sounds of nature creating a symphony of summer.

A no-mean-feat of a trek across the Burmese Rope Bridge adds yet more thrill to the trail – stretching 100 feet long above ancient tree ferns, it’s an adventure for even the tallest of giants.

This is all in addition to Cornwall’s largest outdoor playground. Heligan Play Meadow covers the size of two football fields and is packed with turrets, tunnels, swings and slides. The only Jumping Pillow in Cornwall will soon be joined by a second version for under-8s, new this summer. Heligan is also home to a giant insect hotel, the largest in the UK, where curious young minds can learn about the giants of the insect world and how enormous their impact is.

Throughout Jungle Giants, the play meadow activity tent will also be open with summer games,  giant-inspired crafts and a giant Jungle inspired games challenges.

Laura Chesterfield, Managing Director at Heligan, says:

“This summer promises to deliver the sort of memorable family adventures that we all hope for in the holidays. Get set for mammoth nature discoveries, super-sized experiences and masses of fun.’

“The giants living amongst us are about to be discovered and they’ve got epic stories to tell. Jungle Giants is a chance to re-wild ourselves, reconnect and celebrate the huge feats of nature. Bring a giant-sized sense of adventure and a bucket-load of energy!”

On Wednesday evenings from late July until the end of August, visitors can exclusively see the Heligan Jungle in a new light… at night. With tours, cocktails, mocktails and fresh food cooked live on the grill, Jungle Nights will offer a memorable summer evening for adventurers of all ages.
