Alton Towers Resort has unveiled its two new scare attractions as it looks forward to days and nights of spooks and frights courtesy of its popular Scarefest event.
Introducing a brand-new live action scare maze, named COMPOUND, and family friendly attraction Amigos in the Afterlife, Alton Towers Resort has options for thrillseekers and families looking to celebrate Halloween in style.
Revealed today, COMPOUND is a terrifying new, intense live-action scare maze based on the story of Nemesis Reborn, where guests find themselves as a subject of the Phalanx – a shady organisation originally tasked with keeping the Nemesis beast under control. COMPOUND is an intense and disorientating scare maze, set within an intimidating Phalanx facility featuring dark and claustrophobic environments amongst the hallways and chambers of their labs. Guarded by their relentless operatives, guests are plunged into a sinister sci-fi experiment where their DNA is the next weapon.
The Resort has also announced an all-new family scare attraction will be joining their spooktacular line-up for Scarefest this year, taking over the previous site of the Alton Towers Dungeon. Amigos in the Afterlife invites guests to step foot into a vibrant world where the gap between this life and the next is at its thinnest. Guided by friendly spirits, guests must find their way back to the world of the living. Journeying through this magical realm of spooktacular effects, encountering mischievous characters along the way who will challenge guests with tasks to earn their passage back to the living realm.
Back by popular demand, in collaboration with legendary YouTube star, Daz Black, guests can experience an adrenaline-inducing escape room meets live action scare maze for the ultimate horror experience with the reimagined for 2024 Daz Games: Panic Reloaded. Guests must think fast and stay calm as they come face to face with a newly reloaded AI themed assault of the senses all before the game strikes back. The attraction, which was introduced in 2023, saw thousands of dedicated ‘Dazzlers’ flock to the Resort to experience this utterly unique scare experience.
Alongside the new attractions, frightening favourites return for this Halloween season including Altonville Mine Tours – Tiny’s Revenge, The Attic: Terror of the Towers and the Resort’s free-flowing, outdoor scare zone, Burial Grounds.
The Resort’s new family-friendly scare attraction, Trick O’ Treat Town with HARIBO will also return for 2024, welcoming guests to knock on the doors from Spooky Avenue all the way up to the Witchy Woods for the ultimate trick-or-treating experience.
Bianca Sammut, Divisional Director for Alton Towers Resort, said: “Get ready for creepy scares, shocks and thrills as Scarefest returns and is more spooktacular than ever.
“From taking on our new and returning scare attractions, to creating unforgettable memories at our wealth of family attractions, Scarefest at Alton Towers Resort is going to be the ultimate celebration of Halloween.”
In addition to spine-tingling scare attractions, guests can step through the portal into a whole world of spooky sensations on the Resort’s front lawns arena, featuring frightfully fantabulous shows, meet and greets, photo opportunities and more. Plus, guests will have the chance to say ‘boo’ to the Resort’s Freaky Friends, with new faces joining their spooks crew this Halloween.
The UK’s only CBeebies Land will also be hosting Scarefest festivities, with the CBeebies Land Monster Ball being held in Big Fun Showtime, where guests can join their favourite CBeebies friends to dance, play games and enjoy a memorific Monster Ball.
With 24 days of uninterrupted spooks and frights, guests can experience over 40 world-class rides and attractions in the dark, including the dominating drops and intense inversions aboard Nemesis Reborn and being able to hurtle towards a flaming effigy aboard Wicker Man, the Resort’s wooden rollercoaster.
Guests can extend their thrilliant escape this Halloween season with a short break at one of the Resort’s unique themed accommodations. From just £57pp*, guests can enjoy an unforgettable overnight stay, delicious buffet breakfast, 9-holes of Extraordinary Mini Golf and all-new live evening entertainment for the ultimate family trip this spooky season.
There are a range of Combi Tickets and VIP packages available for guest to make the most out of their visits, including a truly exclusive ticket for Merlin Annual Passholders offering them unlimited frights across all big thrill mazes throughout the entire Scarefest run**.
