North Yorkshire Moors Railway Christmas Services

The North Yorkshire Moors Railway (NYMR) has announced its enchanting Christmas Pullman Service offerings for the festive season. This year, guests can immerse themselves in Christmas cheer with a range of exclusive experiences including the Christmas Pullman, Christmas Charters, and Christmas Afternoon Tea.

Christmas Pullman  – 26-29 Nov, 3-6, 10-13, 17-20, 28-30 Dec & 02-05 Jan

Step aboard the heritage carriages and indulge in a three-course Christmas feast. The Christmas Pullman service promises an unforgettable journey through the scenic Yorkshire countryside, complemented by a menu crafted to celebrate the season’s finest flavours.

Diners will be greeted by mulled wine on arrival and fresh bread waiting on the table. Starters to choose from include chef’s homemade vegetable & lentil soup, smoked salmon & prawn salad, or garlic mushrooms. For the main course, there is traditional roast turkey, daube of beef, or chef’s homemade vegetable bake. Sweet treats for the third course include traditional Christmas pudding, poached pear pavlova, or a selection of cheese and biscuits. To finish there is freshly brewed tea and coffee served with mince pies.

There is the Private Coupes with Drinks Package which is ideal for a family and friends get-together.

A Coupe offers a private dining experience within your own compartment which can seat up to four people. This exclusive package includes a bottle of house wine (Red/White/Rosé) and a bottle of still or sparkling water.

The price per person for the Christmas Pullman is £99, and the Four Person Private Coupe with Drinks Package is £425.

Christmas Charters – 26, 27, 29 Nov, 3, 4, 6, 10, 11, 13, 17, 18, 20, 28-30 Dec & 02-05 Jan

For private celebrations, Christmas parties, awards evenings, or a special occasion, the Christmas Charters offer a bespoke festive experience tailored to your group’s desires on board the Great Western Saloon which was built in 1948. This carriage has two luxurious seating areas with fine furnishings and observation windows for you to admire the fantastic views that the North York Moors National Park has to offer. Guests will enjoy mulled wine on arrival and then tuck into a cold meat platter, smoked salmon platter, local butcher pork pie, and a broccoli and stilton quiche. Accompaniments include mixed leaf salad, potato salad, and artisan breads. For a sweet treat there is lemon tart, salted caramel profiteroles, fruit cake slice and a selection of cheeses. Tea and coffee is also included and served with mince pies.

Perfect for festive celebrations, your dedicated member of staff will welcome you aboard with a glass of warming mulled wine, followed by a delicious buffet lunch for up to 18 people. Additional drinks can be pre-ordered and are charged in addition to the hire costs. This package costs £1595.

Christmas Afternoon Tea – 28 Nov, 5, 12 & 19 Dec

Enjoy a quintessentially British tradition with a festive twist on board the Christmas Afternoon Tea service. Relax in the elegant Great Western Saloon carriage whilst enjoying a delightful selection of seasonal sandwiches, local butcher pork pie, homemade cheese and chive scone, broccoli and cheese tart. Diners can enjoy Victoria sponge cake, salted caramel profiterole, chocolate & Cointreau tart, and mince pies. All accompanied by tea and coffee served throughout the journey. Christmas Afternoon Tea is £85 per person.
