The show, last seen during Christmas 2022, combines rap music, the vibrant sights and sounds of Brixton, and Poltergeist’s signature fast-paced storytelling. Directed by the award-winning Jack Bradfield, with lyrics by Gerel Falconer, the production promises a whirlwind experience, perfect for families this festive season.
Cast Announced
Leading the new cast is award-winning poet and performer Tatenda Matsvai, who takes on the role of Alice. The full cast includes Cheyenne Dasri, Gavin Dunn, Rosa Garland, Olivia Woolhouse, and Will Spence. The story, deeply rooted in the Brixton community, breathes contemporary life into this much-loved classic, bringing a South London flavour to Carroll’s whimsical world.
The plot kicks off when eleven-year-old Alice, following a heated argument with her mum at Brixton Underground Station, jumps onto a tube train just as the doors close. Trapped on a speeding train bound for a world of nonsense, Alice encounters bizarre passengers and faces the challenge of a tyrannical Queen who refuses to give up control. Will Alice be able to turn this wild ride around?
