‘Charlie Cook’s Favourite Book’ to the West End this Christmas
Little Angel Theatre
This Christmas, Little Angel Theatre brings the magic of books to the West End with their adaptation of Charlie Cook’s Favourite Book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler. After a successful nationwide tour and a sell-out run at Little Angel Theatre, the show will now run at Trafalgar Studios from 5 December 2024 to 5 January 2025.
A festive treat for the family
With Christmas just around the corner, Charlie Cook’s Favourite Book is the perfect festive outing for families. The show, designed for children aged 3-8, promises to entertain young audiences with puppetry, catchy songs, and an exciting story. This heart-warming production runs alongside another Little Angel favourite, The Smartest Giant in Town.
Packed with fun and creativity
Charlie Cook’s Favourite Book is a celebration of reading, imagination, and creativity. The show follows Charlie, a book-loving boy, as he tries to convince his reluctant sister that reading is fun. With pirates, ghosts, knights, and more, this puppet-filled production brings to life the many magical worlds inside Charlie’s books.
The adaptation features designs by Ellie Mills, puppets by Maia Kirkman-Richards, and music by Barb Jungr. Georgie Samuels and Pierre Hanson-Johnson will reprise their roles, with Jazmine Wilkinson joining the cast for the West End run.
Tickets are now on sale at charliecookonstage.co.uk, so don’t miss out on this enchanting Christmas show!
Inspiring young readers
Throughout the tour, Little Angel Theatre has partnered with Macmillan Children’s Books and the National Literacy Trust to deliver play-based workshops to primary schools and libraries across the UK. These workshops aim to support literacy and inspire reluctant readers by exploring books through creative play.
Parents and teachers can look forward to more opportunities to engage with books in fun and imaginative ways this Christmas, with Charlie Cook’s Favourite Book providing a perfect example of how storytelling can inspire a lifelong love of reading.
With two productions running in the West End this Christmas, Little Angel Theatre continues to bring the magic of puppetry, music, and storytelling to families across the country. Be sure to book your tickets and make Charlie Cook’s Favourite Book a part of your family’s Christmas tradition!
