This October half-term, get ready for a frightfully fun family adventure at Beaulieu! Scarecrow Scramble: Can You Find Them All?

Get your family ready to embark on the brand-new Scarecrow Scramble! Follow this exciting trail and hunt for eight uniquely named scarecrows hidden across the Beaulieu grounds. From the enchanting Beaulieu Abbey Ruins and stunning Victorian Gardens to Palace House and the National Motor Museum, you’ll need to search high and low to spot all the scarecrows. Once you’ve found them, head to the Bothy in the Victorian Vegetable Garden to decode the hidden symbols and discover the magic word!

Potion Making and Herb Discovery

After completing the Scarecrow Scramble, step inside the bewitching Bothy to try your hand at potion-making. Learn about the herbs used by monks centuries ago at Beaulieu Abbey to cure ailments, and see if you can spot these plants still growing around the beautiful autumnal gardens during your visit.

Ghostly Tales and Spooky Stories

For those seeking a spookier experience, head to Palace House for some ghostly tales. Settle in the Portrait Gallery to hear eerie stories of famous figures who are said to haunt the grand country home to this day. While you’re there, don’t miss the chance to visit the Victorian Kitchen where Lord Montagu’s cook will be preparing some seasonal treats for you to try.

Ghosts in the National Motor Museum

The National Motor Museum is also home to some ghostly guests this half-term! Help Beaulieu track down the spooky ghouls hiding amongst the museum’s world-famous collection of motor vehicles. While you’re there, take a nostalgic trip back to the 1950s, 60s, and 70s with Streets Ahead: Motoring in Mid-Century Britain and check out the Burnout! 60th Anniversary of British International Drag Racing Festival exhibition in the In Focus Gallery.

Little Beaulieu Adventure Play Area

For younger visitors, the Little Beaulieu adventure play area offers the perfect opportunity to burn off some energy. Explore the wooden replica of Palace House, crawl through secret passageways, zoom down the zipwire, and even discover the trick bookcase! Parents can relax in the family-friendly seating area while the kids play.
