A Busy Mum’s Review of Grubby’s Meal Kits – Including the Christmas Meal

As a working mum with two kids and barely a moment to myself, meal planning often feels like a monumental task. I recently tried Grubby, a UK-based meal kit delivery service specialising in plant-based recipes, and I couldn’t be happier. Here’s how it fits into my busy life, and why the Christmas meal is an absolute game-changer.

Simple and Stress-Free Ordering

Grubby’s website is incredibly user-friendly. It took me just a few minutes to select the meals I wanted, customise portions, and choose a delivery date. For someone juggling school runs and work deadlines, this efficiency was a blessing.

The fact that Grubby is plant-based also made me feel good about serving meals that are not only healthy but environmentally conscious.

Tasty Meals in a Flash

The kits come with clear instructions, perfectly portioned ingredients, and minimal prep time. The variety is excellent, ranging from hearty curries to vibrant pasta dishes. Every meal we tried was bursting with flavour, and my kids surprisingly didn’t miss the meat.

One of my personal favourites was the spicy peanut noodles—delicious, quick, and packed with veggies!

The Show-Stopping Christmas Meal

This year, I opted to try Grubby’s Christmas meal kit, and it exceeded all expectations. The centrepiece was a festive plant-based roast, accompanied by a range of mouth-watering trimmings like maple-glazed carrots, Brussels sprouts with chestnuts, and cranberry sauce. The dessert—a rich chocolate yule log—was the perfect finishing touch.

What I loved most was how easy it was to prepare. Everything was pre-portioned and required minimal effort, so I could focus on enjoying the day with my family rather than being stuck in the kitchen. It also felt great knowing we were having a sustainable, cruelty-free Christmas dinner.

Why It Works for Busy Mums

  • Time-Saving: No need to shop or plan; everything is delivered to your door.
  • Healthy Options: The meals are packed with fresh ingredients, making it easier to feed your family nutritious food.
  • Eco-Friendly: From recyclable packaging to plant-based dishes, it’s a more sustainable choice.

Room for Improvement?

If I had one minor suggestion, it would be to offer more options for fussy eaters—my youngest wasn’t too keen on the spicier dishes. But overall, the meals were a hit.

Grubby has been a lifesaver for our family, simplifying meal times while introducing us to delicious plant-based dishes. The Christmas meal was the cherry on top, providing a stress-free, festive feast that everyone enjoyed. If you’re a busy parent looking for convenient, healthy, and sustainable meal solutions, I can’t recommend Grubby enough!
