Disney has acquired global theatrical rights, with the movie set to hit cinemas in 2027 under the Disney banner. After its theatrical release, the film will stream exclusively on Disney+.

The Creative Team Behind the Magic

Written and directed by Bluey creator Joe Brumm, the film is produced by Ludo Studio in collaboration with BBC Studios. Known for its heartwarming humour and relatable family moments, the movie will continue Bluey’s legacy of entertaining audiences worldwide.

“I’ve always thought Bluey deserved a theatrical movie,” said Joe Brumm. “I want this to be an experiential event for the whole family to enjoy together.”

The film brings back fan-favourite vocal talents Melanie Zanetti and David McCormack as Chilli and Bandit Heeler, along with music by series composer Joff Bush.

A Partnership for the Ages
