Dinosaur Madness Takes Over Weymouth!

Get ready for a prehistoric adventure this February half-term as Dino Week roars into Weymouth! Kicking off with the much-loved “Chase the Dinosaur” event on Saturday, 15th February 2025, families, fitness lovers, and dinosaur enthusiasts can look forward to a day packed with animatronic dinosaur shows, fossil displays, and thrilling races – all while supporting a fantastic local cause, the Will Mackaness Trust

Chase the Dinosaur – A Race Like No Other!

Fancy running alongside a T-Rex? This exciting event invites participants of all ages to dress as their favourite dinosaurs and race along Weymouth Beach. Whether you’re a speedy Velociraptor or a stomping Stegosaurus, there’s a race for everyone:

  • 5km Run – Adults (Pavilion to Greenhill and back)
  • 2km Run – Under 16s (Pavilion to Pier Bandstand and back)
  • 1km Run – Under 11s (Pavilion to Beach Office and back)
  • Preschooler Dash – A short sprint from the sand sculptures to the Pavilion

Prizes will be awarded to top finishers, and one lucky runner will be crowned “THE Dinosaur” for 2026.

Free Dinosaur Shows & Fossil Fun

If a beach full of dinosaurs wasn’t enough, Weymouth Town Centre will come alive with giant animatronic dinosaurs, baby dinos, and interactive fossil displays. With three free shows throughout the day, this is an event not to be missed.

Supporting a Great Cause

All proceeds from the race go to the Will Mackaness Trust, helping young people access outdoor and water-based activities.
