Kunda “Emotions Song” for Children’s Mental Health 2025

Kunda

Kunda Kids, the London-based, award-winning children’s EdTech, media, and publishing company, has launched a brand-new Emotions Song on its YouTube channel, Kunda & Friends, in celebration of Children’s Mental Health Week 2025.

Kunda helping kids express their emotions

Designed to help preschoolers understand and express their emotions, the song provides a fun, engaging way to build emotional literacy, an essential skill for lifelong mental well-being.

Research shows that emotional intelligence plays a critical role in children’s mental health, yet many struggle to articulate their feelings. The Emotions Song bridges this gap through playful melodies and easy-to-remember lyrics, encouraging children to recognise, name, and communicate their emotions with confidence.

Supporting children’s mental health initiatives

As part of this initiative, Kunda Kids will donate a portion of the proceeds from the song’s YouTube views to children’s mental health initiatives, ensuring more young people receive the emotional support they need to thrive.

Storytelling for emotional literacy from Kunda Kids

Beyond music, they champion emotional literacy through storytelling. Their book LuLu Learns helps young readers navigate their emotions through relatable characters and self-discovery. Studies show that reading about emotions helps children develop self-awareness, confidence, and resilience, key factors in mental well-being.

Encouraging parents and educators to take action

Kunda Kids invites parents, educators, and caregivers to mark Children’s Mental Health Week 2025 by sharing the Emotions Song with children to help them talk about their feelings, as well as exploring their book collection to support emotional literacy at home and in the classroom.

A message from Kunda Kids

Louisa Olafuyi, Co-founder and COO and co-creator of Kunda & Friends, said:

“We created Kunda Kids to make storytelling more inclusive, reflecting the rich diversity of children’s experiences. Every child should feel seen, heard, and understood in the stories they read and the content they watch.

“Emotional intelligence is the foundation for a happy, confident future. By equipping children with the words to express how they feel, we help them navigate challenges, build resilience, and thrive. Through music, books, and meaningful conversations, we can make a lasting impact on children’s well-being.”
