An ugly duckling’s journey to belonging

Meet Lou, a little duckling who doesn’t quite fit in. She struggles to waddle in step with the others, and the story follows her quest to find her place. Along the way, Lou meets an unexpected bunch: a vegetarian cat, a tortoise who dreams of sprinting, and others who challenge traditional roles.

Rather than transforming into a swan, Lou discovers that true belonging comes from being accepted just as she is. The show delivers an uplifting message: you don’t need to change — just find your tribe.

Dazzling circus delights

The performance bursts with dynamic circus sequences. From a stunning Cyr Wheel display to aerial straps and fast-paced acrobatics, each act showcases awe-inspiring talent. These thrilling visuals keep children engaged, while themes of self-worth and empathy run throughout.

A favourite for little ones, the soundtrack features hits like I Like to Move It Move It and 5 Years Time by Noah and the Whale. The mix of music, movement, and humour creates a feel-good show that holds even the youngest viewers’ attention.

A celebration of difference

Revel Puck Circus champions inclusivity, with performers who defy expectations and celebrate all body types and abilities. The Ugly Duckling – A Circus Story reflects this, offering an experience that is both fun and affirming.

This charming reimagining promises energy, heart, and a new take on a well-loved tale. Make sure to catch this must-see family highlight of the Brighton Fringe.
