Eden Camp shines a spotlight on the Women’s Land Army this summer with hands-on wartime experiences

Families are invited to step into the boots of the Women’s Land Army this summer as Eden Camp, the modern military museum, celebrates the remarkable contribution of Britain’s wartime women with its Women at War programme.

Running throughout the summer holidays until 4th September , the programme gives visitors the chance to meet Women’s Land Army reenactors, discover how women helped keep Britain’s farms running during World War II, and even try their hand at milking a model cow.

The immersive permanent exhibits bring to life the courage, determination, and resilience of the homefront and the vital part women played stepped into important roles across Britain during wartime. From the fields and factories to hospitals and military bases, visitors will discover how women helped keep the nation running during its darkest hours through interactive activities, workshops, and live experiences.

Eden Camp will also be hosting new workshops, events and activities, including a Poo Clues Trail, Little Evacuees Workshop where visitors can make their own gas mask, and a whole host of 1940s Summer Street Games. History enthusiasts and curious minds can take part in a range of themed activities designed to educate, entertain, and inspire.

Eden Camp is also taking part in the Great British Summer Savings VAT reduction scheme, implementing the full VAT reduction to help make family days out more affordable this summer. Families can enjoy advance purchase tickets from just £14.75 for adults and concessions, £13 for children, with family tickets available from £26.25.

After exploring the immersive WWII exhibits and taking part in all the summer fun, children can enjoy a tasty Children’s Meal for just £6 during the summer holidays, making it even easier for families to enjoy an affordable day out.
