Kärcher Window Vac Review: A Simple Way to Keep Windows Looking Their Best

There are some household jobs that you put off because they are just a bit of a faff – cleaning windows is definitely one of them. Add conservatory windows, patio doors and large panes of glass to the mix and it can feel like a never-ending task. So, when we tried the Kärcher Window Vac, I was interested to see whether it could actually make the job quicker and easier.

The first thing we noticed was how straightforward it is to use. After cleaning the glass with the supplied spray bottle and microfibre pad, the Window Vac simply sucks up the dirty water as you move it across the surface. Instead of water running down the glass or collecting on the windowsill, it is collected neatly in the machine.

For our large windows and patio doors, this was where it really came into its own. It made it much easier to get a clean, streak-free finish without having to keep going back over the same areas. It was also particularly useful on the conservatory windows, where keeping all that glass looking clean can otherwise be quite a chore.

Another unexpected benefit is dealing with condensation. Rather than reaching for a cloth and wiping water from the windows, the Window Vac can quickly remove it from the glass, which is particularly handy on colder mornings.

I also like the fact that you don’t need to be particularly good at window cleaning to get a satisfying result. It is light enough to handle comfortably and, once you’ve got the technique, you can work through several windows without it feeling like such a big job.

Of course, it isn’t going to make cleaning windows exciting – nothing probably will! But it does make the process considerably less messy and more manageable. For anyone with lots of glass around the home, particularly conservatories, garden rooms or patio doors, it is a genuinely useful bit of kit.

Our verdict: A practical household gadget that earns its place in the cleaning cupboard. If sparkling windows and maximum natural light are important to you, the Kärcher Window Vac is well worth considering.
