Active Learning Nurseries are different from most nurseries and fitted with a full complement of specialist studios, Performing Arts and Music (for drama, general dance, ballet, street dance, music, yoga), the fabulous fully equipped Art Studio, and Science and IT (with interactive whiteboards, individual computer terminals, pre school Science lab equipment, and more).

It’s well known that children learn best when they are having fun and are confident in their environment and their peers. Here the development of the all round child is key and they are introduced to a broad, exciting programme of learning through this truly innovative studio programme focussing on Art, Music, Performing Arts, Language, Literacy, Science, IT and Sports, all of which are perfect for this style of interactive fun teaching. The results are outstanding.

With a dedicated team of specialist teachers in the studios who are supernumerary to all the wonderful nursery mentors, children are nurtured and looked after as unique and individual children, ensuring that the best is brought out in each and every one.

Active Learning works on building the confidence and social skills necessary to stand on stage in front of peers to speak aloud, sing and dance, creating essential new language skills and above all self belief, fundamental to success in literacy and new knowledge acquisition in every subject later on.

‘I’ve never seen anything like it’, exclaims many a parent on visiting Active learning for the first time

For the younger babies, they have their own special haven in the form of Active Senses, a soothing, mystical place full of wondrous things to look at, touch, and discover, an ever changing constant source of delight.

Stunning gardens and outdoor play areas

Our fabulous new enclosed natural gardens at the nurseries benefit from dry river beds, climbing walls, spider nets, mud kitchens, scrambling boulders and so many more fun filled areas to explore.

Sport is a crucial part of a child’s development both physically, socially and emotionally. Active Learning employs its own full time sports coaches and also joins in partnership with external sports specialists – they even play rugby!

The foundation of this approach is to make school life fun, adventurous and exciting. Create a natural joy of discovery,  and successful learning is a given outcome.
