Priceless opportunity for children to have their drawings displayed on billboards across the country

This summer, proud parents across the UK and Republic of Ireland will have the opportunity to see their child’s drawings displayed for all to see. In partnership with Mumsnet, BIC® KIDS is launching an amazing competition celebrating kids’ creativity by taking their fabulous drawings beyond the fridge door, putting 10 lucky winners’ works of art on billboards across the nation.

Running from 17th July – 6th August, the nationwide competition is open to all 5-11 year old kids. To enter, parents simply need to take a photo of their child’s drawing and upload it to the native discussion page on the Mumsnet website by Sunday 6th August. Entries will then be judged by an expert panel of creatives from the marketing, publishing and illustration industries, before winners are notified and the billboards launched in September.

Phil Corbett

Illustrator and judge, Phil Corbett, has written some top drawing tips for kids looking to enter this year’s competition:

Enjoy it! When you’re drawing it’s important that you don’t stress. Just have fun and don’t worry about making mistakes – it’s all part of the experience!

Draw what you want to, not what you feel you should. Who says the sky needs to be blue? Colour it red, green or even purple with orange spots. You don’t have to be realistic – the most important thing is getting creative, finding your own style and running with it.

Don’t ever worry about not being good enough. Everyone is different, and sees the world in their own way. The important thing is to grab a pen, follow your heart and draw whatever you want.

As well as the priceless opportunity to have their drawings published, the 10 lucky winners will win a hamper full of BIC® KIDS drawing and colouring instruments. Specifically designed to help children to hone their artistic talent, the hampers will include an array of exciting stationery products including the BIC® Kids Evolution® Ecolutions® colouring pencils, Kid Couleur felt pens and Plastidecor® crayons, to name just a few.
