A metallic or bitter taste in the mouth
Some women notice an odd, metallic taste that won’t go away no matter how often they brush their teeth. This is caused by hormonal changes and increased blood flow, and it can appear very early.

Sudden, intense tiredness Early pregnancy fatigue is on another level. This isn’t just feeling sleepy, it’s the kind of exhaustion where even getting dressed feels like effort. Your body is working incredibly hard behind the scenes.

Needing to wee more often
Many people associate frequent urination with later pregnancy, but it often starts early due to hormonal changes affecting kidney function.

Heightened sense of smell
Smells may suddenly feel overwhelming or nauseating. Everyday scents like cooking, perfume, even your partner can suddenly feel unbearable.

Emotional sensitivity
Feeling tearful, irritable, or unusually sensitive can happen early on. Hormones fluctuate rapidly, and emotional changes are very real physical symptoms.

Bloating and digestive changes
Progesterone slows digestion, which can cause bloating, constipation, and that “tight jeans” feeling before your bump even exists.

Implantation spotting or cramping
Light spotting or mild cramping can happen when the embryo implants. It’s often mistaken for a slightly odd period.

Changes in appetite or food aversions
Suddenly going off foods you usually love, especially coffee or alcohol, can be an early sign.

Breast changes beyond tenderness
Breasts may feel heavier, fuller, or tingly, and veins may become more noticeable due to increased blood supply.

Vivid dreams and disrupted sleep
Hormones can affect sleep patterns and dream intensity very early on.

Not everyone experiences these signs and that’s completely normal too. Pregnancy doesn’t follow a script. If something feels different in your body, it’s always okay to listen and explore that feeling.
