Lifesaving Allergy Kits Introduced at Every Little Adventures Nursery
Quote from Penny McCarthy on September 18, 2025, 12:50 pmLittle Adventures Nurseries, part of the Family Adventures Group, has become one of the first nursery groups in England to introduce specialist anaphylaxis kits across its settings, offering an essential layer of protection and critical safeguard for trained staff.
The rollout, which includes all nine of its nurseries and pre-school sites in the South West and Midlands, ensures trained staff have immediate access to adrenaline auto-injectors should anyone experience a serious allergic reaction.
It’s a move being hailed by early years professionals as a practical and potentially life-saving step forward. Swift administration of adrenaline can be life-saving, making this initiative a significant step forward in protecting those with allergies in nursery settings.
As a qualifying business with occupational health, Little Adventures Nurseries have been able to purchase Kitts for all their nursery sites.
Supplied by Kitt Medical, each wall-mounted kit contains clearly labelled auto-injectors – two 300mcg and two 150mcg doses – along with straightforward instructions designed for use by trained staff during an emergency.
Severe allergic reactions can happen with little warning
“Having these kits on site gives our teams vital reassurance. We hope they’re never needed, but their presence gives peace of mind to staff and parents alike,” said Laura Filer, co-founder of Family Adventures Group. The kits will sit alongside existing emergency equipment, such as defibrillators, and complement the group’s ongoing commitment to advanced paediatric first aid training for all staff.
Nursery teams at Little Adventures have welcomed the addition, with many highlighting how it supports the safe, caring environments they work hard to create. This initiative is part of a wider safety strategy across the Family Adventures Group, which operates early years settings in both England and Wales.
The group aims to set a new standard for allergy preparedness in nursery environments, combining proactive health measures with the nurturing, play-based learning ethos it’s known for.
“Our goal is to offer a place where children can learn, play and grow in confidence,” said Laura. “That includes doing all we can to remove avoidable risks. These kits are a simple, powerful addition to the safety toolkit in each nursery,” she added.
