JW3, at 341-351 Finchley Road, London NW3 6ET, celebrates its 13th anniversary with a vibrant season of music, theatre, comedy and family events. As the UK’s only Jewish community centre of its kind, JW3 enters its Bar Mitzvah year with a programme that embraces creativity, community and cultural connection.
The season highlights JW3’s commitment to welcoming people of all ages and backgrounds. Through inspiring performances, family activities and cultural experiences, the centre continues to create opportunities for people to celebrate, learn and belong.
Music and theatre take centre stage
Music lovers can enjoy L’Chaim / L’Chaos: 50 Years of Jewish Punk on 7 June. This energetic event combines live interviews, DJ sets, poetry, film and performance while exploring five decades of Jewish punk culture.
The music programme concludes with Kosher Giraffes & Other Tails on 11 June. Artist Hugo Max blends experimental short films with outstanding live music in a thought-provoking exploration of Jewish identity.
Theatre also features strongly this season. Sandra Laub’s acclaimed solo production Picking Up Stones arrives on 9 June, offering a moving reflection on grief, peace and resilience.
Later, Rainbow on Rye on 21 June celebrates LGBTQIA+ Jewish voices through new writing, musical theatre and comedy, presented by Echoes Theatre Co. and THE JEWish CABARET.
Comedy fans can also enjoy the popular JW3 Comedy Club, which takes place on the 19th of every month.
Family fun and storytelling
Families can discover a packed programme of creative activities. Over the Rainbow: Yoga Stories on 21 June combines movement, mindfulness and storytelling for children, parents and grandparents.
The season concludes with One Beach, Three Languages: A Family Storytelling Day on 12 July, delivered in partnership with PJ Library. Families can enjoy storytelling sessions in English, Russian and Hebrew, alongside sensory play and hands-on crafts inspired by the stories.
These events encourage families to connect through creativity, imagination and shared experiences.
Events for young adults and the wider community
JW3 also offers exciting opportunities for people in their twenties and thirties through its Young JW3 programme. Highlights include Improvisational Drawing on 11 June and a World Cup Final Watch Party on 19 July.
Alongside these events, visitors can enjoy walking tours, cinema screenings and engaging talks throughout the year.
Chief Executive Officer Raymond Simonson said the Bar Mitzvah year marks an important moment in JW3’s journey. He described the new season as a celebration of everything the organisation has achieved while looking forward to an ambitious future built on culture, conversation and community.
The season culminates with the B’Mitzvah Party on Sunday 28 June 2026 from 2pm to 9pm, bringing people together for a joyful celebration of JW3’s coming of age.
