Visitors enter a fictional boarding school where mystery unfolds from the start. Head teacher Christie Moyo has vanished, so young sleuths must solve the case. Children follow clues, crack puzzles and explore immersive spaces. These include a forensics lab, a library and even a hidden door. As a result, families experience hands-on storytelling that feels exciting and educational.
Discover famous detectives and stories
The exhibition celebrates the rich history of detective fiction. Families will recognise beloved characters like Sherlock Holmes and Inspector Morse. In addition, modern favourites appear, including Murder Most Unladylike and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. Therefore, children connect classic and contemporary storytelling in one engaging space.

Importantly, young people helped design this exhibition. The Story Curators, aged 12 to 16, worked closely with professionals. Consequently, the experience feels fresh, creative and relevant for today’s families. Author Sharna Jackson shaped the storyline, bringing energy and imagination to every detail. Meanwhile, Robin Stevens added expert guidance to enhance authenticity.
