Budding archaeologists welcome at Lee Valley Park Farms!
Indiana Jones wannabes can now come and dig for ancient bones at Lee Valley Park Farms, with the opening of a new Dino Dig and Splash area.
The new 15 metre square fun corner has just been built as an addition to all the farm’s attractions. Families will be able to experience the prehistoric age and ‘excavate’ like archaeologists to see which dinosaurs they can uncover in the Fossil Dig Zone! As well as fun for all in unearthing ‘ancient bones’, children can enjoy digging and playing in the sand.
In addition to digging for ancient relics and sand and water play, there’s lots of fun to be had at the farm which has many attractions, including 300 friendly animals. The daily entertainment includes a critter show, with animals such as chinchillas and Bearded Dragons, pig racing and a chance to make friends with cuddly sheep, giant rabbits and rare breed pigs, not to mention long-necked llamas and a loveable Meerkat family.
Manager James Broomfield
Lee Valley Park Farms Manager James Broomfield said: “Our new Dino Dig and Splash corner is a great addition to the many activities we have here at the farm. Children can try out the water fun for themselves, and if they are budding archaeologists, they will love digging for bones here too! We hope our new play space will provide hours of fun throughout the summer, allowing children to dig for bones and play with sand and water to their hearts’ content, as well as enjoying all the other action on offer.”
As the school holidays approach, there’s a chance to celebrate the summer months at Lee Valley Park Farms with a host of themed activities, from close encounter experiences with furry animals and meeting Meerkats, to falconry flying displays and lamb racing. From 22 July until 3 September, there are different themed events every two weeks throughout the holiday period, focusing on birds, horses and the smaller inhabitants of the venue.
The farm, which is celebrating its 40th birthday this year, also has plenty of other activities, with indoor and outdoor play areas, a toboggan run, plus a chance to take a ride on Tex the Tractor to see the cows being milked. Visitors can round off the day with delicious homemade cakes and freshly prepared food in The Bumblebee Café.
A special £16 per person summer pass is available between 22 July and 3 September offering unlimited visits to the farm throughout that period. Buy your summer pass online www.lvfarms.co.uk
