Tutankhamun: The Immersive Exhibition has officially opened its doors at Immerse LDN, Excel London Waterfront for a strictly limited 14-week run.
Running until 29th June 2025, the exhibition welcomes visitors for an extraordinary journey through Ancient Egypt, exploring the myths and mysteries surrounding Pharaoh Tutankhamun using a combination of cutting-edge technology with historical storytelling, original artefacts and replicas.
Spanning over 26,000sq ft, the exhibition features one of Europe’s largest immersive video mapping rooms with spectacular 8-metre-high projections, a world-premiere hologram showcasing the mummification process, an exhilarating virtual reality experience through the Egyptian afterlife, and an interactive digital metaverse space that allows visitors to explore Howard Carter’s excavation camp in the Valley of the Kings.
Visitors begin their journey through an infinity corridor, culminating with an impressive walking Anubis before exploring carefully curated artefacts and replicas alongside stories illuminating the ancient Egyptian civilization. The experience continues with a remarkable video mapping room chronicling Egypt’s historical and cultural heritage, the life and legacy of Tutankhamun, and the monumental discovery of his tomb.
Designed with children, families, schools, and history enthusiasts in mind, the exhibition includes a captivating 30-minute immersive movie exploring Egypt’s natural landscapes, the story of Tutankhamun and the discovery of the tomb including a recording of the voice of Howard Carter, the renowned British archaeologist. Visitors then embark on a 360-degree seated virtual reality journey into the mystical Egyptian afterlife before stepping into another cutting-edge space, where a hologram presentation vividly depicts the entire mummification process of Pharaoh Tutankhamun.
The journey concludes with an interactive digital metaverse walk-through of the Valley of the Kings, allowing guests to explore Howard Carter’s basecamp and relive the historic 1922 tomb discovery in stunning detail. To commemorate their visit, each guest can capture a keepsake photo in the AI photobooth, where they will be transformed into a citizen of ancient Egypt.
This approximate 90-minute experience is both engaging and informative with a truly captivating and immersive atmosphere, making it London’s must-see cultural event this Spring. It is also easy to reach being located at Immerse LDN, London’s newest immersive entertainment district at Excel London Waterfront, with step-free access just 12 minutes from Central London on the Elizabeth Line.
Running from 28th March – 29th June 2025 inclusive, the exhibition is open 7 days a week for a strictly limited 14-week run. Tickets are available from £20* for adults and £15.50* for children *ticket agent fees apply (ages 0-3 go for free) and are available to purchase here.
