There are certain things you can almost guarantee when a new school term starts: uniforms will need washing, trainers will get muddy and somebody will come home with a mysterious stain that nobody can quite explain.
So, when YASS Clean offered us the chance to try its Back to School Bundle, it seemed like a particularly well-timed addition to the cleaning cupboard.

For busy school mornings and equally busy evenings, there is something appealing about simply popping a pod into the washing machine rather than measuring out different products. The large pack should also see a family through a good number of school washes.
For those inevitable stains
Then there is the Stain Slayer Oxy-Action Stain Remover, supplied in a generous 1kg tub.
If your children are anything like ours, school clothes can encounter grass, mud, paint, food and who-knows-what-else on a regular basis. The Stain Slayer is designed to tackle exactly these sorts of marks and can be added to the wash for extra stain-busting power on both colours and whites.
It’s the sort of product that feels particularly useful at the start of a school term when you’re trying to keep a limited number of uniforms looking presentable for as long as possible.
Rub it, wash it, done
For more targeted disasters, the Rub & Done Stain Remover is designed for pre-treating individual marks.
The improved formula can be rubbed directly onto stains before washing, making it useful for areas such as collars and cuffs – as well as those inevitable mystery marks that seem to appear from nowhere.
The simple approach is one of the things we liked: spot the stain, treat it, put the garment in the wash and get on with your day.
Give school shoes a refresh
The final product in the bundle is the Sparkling Clean Shoe Cleaner, which is designed to revive scuffed and tired trainers and school shoes.
Anyone who has bought a smart new pair of school shoes only to see them looking decidedly less smart a few weeks into term will appreciate having something to give them a quick refresh.
It’s a useful addition to the bundle and means it isn’t solely focused on laundry – you’re getting something to help tackle the wider challenge of keeping children looking vaguely presentable throughout the school term!
Our verdict
The YASS Clean Back to School Bundle is a practical collection that tackles four of the biggest cleaning headaches that tend to come with school life: everyday laundry, stubborn stains, spot cleaning and grubby footwear.
We particularly like that the products cover different jobs rather than simply giving you several versions of the same thing. The large 120-wash laundry pod pack and 1kg stain remover should also make the £35 bundle feel like a useful investment for the term ahead.
It’s not going to stop children getting muddy, spilling ketchup or mysteriously decorating their sleeves with paint – sadly, no cleaning product can manage that! But it does give parents a well-stocked cleaning arsenal for dealing with the aftermath.
