It’s four years since The Snow Centre, North London welcomed the first skiers and snowboarders to enjoy the closest real snow to the centre of London.

This May Bank Holiday The Snow Centre is celebrating their fourth birthday with what they promise will be ‘a sn-occasion to remember!’

The Snow Centre’s birthday bash will see visitors experiencing the slopes as the snow falls for the first time since they opened in 2009.   ‘It’s a unique chance to enjoy the UK’s freshest powder on our slopes and enjoy skiing or snowboarding through the falling snow,’ says MD Ian Brown.

Monday 6th May has all the makings for a great FREE family day out.

You’ll be able to explore the piste basher at close quarters and grab a picture of yourself in the driving seat or have a bash at freestyling for free in the temporary outdoor snow park!

There will be free birthday cake, free hot chocolate in the Schuss Bar on the slopes, a chance to snap up a bargain in the summer ski, snowboard and boot sale and a mass balloon race with the chance to win some fantastic prizes.  Games, face-painting, a treasure hunt and competitions will make Bank Holiday Monday (May 6th) a day action-packed with snowy fun

Make sure you start the party early with The Snow Centre’s Birthday Weekend Deals including Lift Passes offering two hours for the price of one with an extra 20% discount if you pre-booked online. First time Skiers and Snowboarders can make the most of half price Beginner Lessons on the UK’s largest lesson slope and families can spend some quality time on the snow with a Family Ski or Snowboard lesson for just £99 (usual price £140!) or nab a Monday Sledging Session for just £4 (usual price £8.50!).

The Snow Centre boasts around 8000m2 of perfect piste with the UK’s largest indoor nursery slopes and an impressive 160m main slope for maximum fun on the snow.

Ian Brown reflected:  ‘Over the last four years there have been more than a million enjoyable visits to our facilities.  Our 300 staff members have delivered more than 230,000 ski and snowboard lessons since we opened on May 6th 2009 and we’ve introduced well over 100,000 people to snowsports on real snow.  Around 250 schools have brought their students here each year with many benefitting from  The Snow Centre’s real snow to ensure they are  ‘mountain ready’ before a holiday.

The Snow Centre has been recognised as the UK’s only Centre of Excellence by BASI (British Association of Snow Sport Instructors), with the best instruction this side of the Alps.  Our well-trained instructors are aged between 18 and 70! The venue continues to offer a wide variety of ski and snowboard lessons, from complete beginners to performance coaching as well as offering lift passes for recreational snowsports all year round and the best Freestyle nights in the South East.’

He added, ‘It’s a real pleasure to share our 4th Birthday celebrations with snowsports lovers from all over the region – we’re looking forward to a fantastic Bank Holiday Party.’
