Free school sports resources & Disability Pride Month

National School Sports Week 2026 gets pupils moving

National School Sports Week, from 6–12 July 2026, arrives at the perfect time for schools. As the summer holidays approach, pupils often have plenty of energy to burn. Teachers can channel that excitement into movement, teamwork and healthy competition with free classroom resources that need very little preparation.

This year, football excitement adds even more momentum as the FIFA Men's World Cup dominates playground conversations. Schools can build on that enthusiasm with free resources from The FA and Barclays alongside Premier League Primary Stars, helping children stay active while developing confidence and valuable life skills. The FA and Barclays’ Made for This Game: Breaking Barriers programme

Build confidence through inclusive football

The FA and Barclays have expanded their Made for This Game: Breaking Barriers programme with new free sessions for Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 pupils.

The programme encourages children to become Equality Champions within their schools. Pupils create campaigns, challenge stereotypes and develop greater body confidence through the "Change, Challenge, Choose" framework. These practical sessions also strengthen communication, resilience and peer support while encouraging every child to feel they belong both on and off the pitch.

Disability Pride Month puts inclusion first

July also marks Disability Pride Month, giving schools an ideal opportunity to reflect on how inclusive PE lessons really are. Some pupils with SEND find physical education challenging. However, the right support helps every child enjoy movement and achieve success.

Premier League Primary Stars offers a free Sensory Circuits resource pack designed specifically for pupils with SEND. Children can create their own sensory circuit independently, with classmates or alongside a teaching assistant. The activities develop physical, emotional and cognitive skills while building confidence and encouraging participation.

The programme supports accessibility throughout the school day and helps teachers deliver inclusive lessons without increasing planning time.

Fun activities with lasting benefits

Premier League Primary Stars also provides Playground Champions, developed with EA SPORTS FC FUTURES. The activities combine football and gaming through five engaging challenges that promote leadership, teamwork and accountability while encouraging positive behaviour and respect.

Together, these free resources help children develop important social skills alongside physical fitness. They also reinforce the message that sport belongs to everyone, regardless of ability, background or confidence level.

Help every pupil feel included

National School Sports Week and Disability Pride Month both highlight the importance of creating welcoming school environments where every child can thrive. By using these ready-made resources, teachers can reduce preparation time while delivering enjoyable, inclusive PE lessons that build confidence, improve wellbeing and encourage lifelong participation in physical activity.

As schools approach the end of term, these free programmes offer a simple way to keep pupils active, engaged and ready for the summer holidays while ensuring every child feels valued and included.
