The wait is finally over as Drayton Manor Theme Park, near Tamworth, Staffordshire, will open its doors for the spectacular 2013 season this Friday (15th March). Families seeking fun and adventure this year should look no further than Drayton Manor Theme Park and to get the best deals, visitors can book online where they can purchase cheaper tickets than standard gate prices.

Prices online start from £25 for adults (12+) and £20 for concessions (4-11 years, Grandees and Students). Tickets for the reduced rates are available at www.draytonmanor.co.uk, providing families with a real value for money day out.

The park boasts some of the biggest, wettest and scariest rides around including white-knuckle thrill rides such as the adrenaline-inducing drop-tower, Apocalypse, stand-up coaster, Shockwave, the splash-tastic log flume, Stormforce 10, and stomach-churning gyro-swing, Maelstrom.

It promises to be another big year for the park, with the hugely popular Thomas Land™ attraction celebrating its fifth anniversary this year and a new Thomas & Friends™ ride also being unveiled in the summer.

There’s also the Ben 10: Ultimate Mission rollercoaster, which you can find on Cartoon Network Street, as well as the stunning 4D cinema, which will be showing the fun family movie, A Fish Story. The musical film, about a fish named Deepo, takes you on a journey to the depths of the ocean, encountering many different sea creatures along the way, such as lively dolphins, stinging jellyfish, kind-hearted sharks and singing sea turtles.

For visitors travelling from further afield or simply looking to turn a day trip into an overnight stay, there’s also the luxurious four-star Drayton Manor Hotel. It has 150 bedrooms, including 15 Thomas & Friends themed family rooms, each with a unique hand-painted scene on the wall and ceiling, themed bunk beds, and train track patterned carpets in the corridors leading to each room. For further details, special offers, or to book a room go to www.draytonmanorhotel.com.

The hotel also has two bars and restaurants and is located near to the theme park’s on-site restaurant, The Grill Inn, which is open to non-visitors and visitors from 12.00pm – 10.00pm daily, ensuring people are never stuck for a choice of fine food and drink. For more information visit www.thegrillinn.co.uk.

For anyone wishing to purchase tickets on the day at the gate, prices are £36 for adults (12+) and £27 for children and concessions (Grandees and Students), with a family pass for four costing £108.

Colin Bryan, managing director at Drayton Manor, said: “There are many exciting things happening this year at the park that are not to be missed. It is the 5th anniversary of Thomas Land, there is a new ride opening in the summer and the brilliant ‘Fish Story’ will be showing in our 4D cinema.”

“We are proud of our heritage here at Drayton Manor. We are still family owned so we understand what our visitors want to ensure they have a fun filled day out that everyone can enjoy. The countdown to our 63rd exciting season has begun!”
