Cheers to Family Fun at Kent Life’s Hops ‘n’ Harvest Festival!

As summer winds down, Kent Life is gearing up to celebrate with its spectacular Hops ‘n’ Harvest Festival, set to take place on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th September. The festival promises a weekend packed with family-friendly activities and entertainment, making it the perfect way to round off the summer season.

The Hops ‘n’ Harvest Festival is a nod to the traditional hop-picking days of yesteryear, when families would escape to Kent from London for a holiday in the picturesque countryside. Visitors can step back in time to experience the charm of hop-picking, meet historical figures from Kent’s past, and witness the traditional hop-making process in Britain’s last coal-fired Oast House. Try your hand at picking hops, fill your own bushels, and soak in the aromatic atmosphere of the Oast House, brought back into operation just for this event. Don’t forget to explore the Hoppers Huts, which offer a glimpse into how previous generations enjoyed their summer stays.

The festival offers something for everyone. Enjoy live music from local bands, including an Abba Tribute band and various disco and soul artists. For the adults, there’s a Kentish Ales Marquee featuring up to 50 different beers, ales, and ciders. If you prefer something lighter, visit the gin bar or prosecco stand. The festival’s food offerings include delicious fare from Dotty’s Tea Room and Wood Fired Oven Pizza in the Pizza Garden.

Younger guests will be entertained with storytelling, discos in the Big Top, crafting activities, and opportunities to meet Kent Life’s friendly farmyard animals. Additionally, all the usual attractions at Kent Life will be available, including animal encounters, farm rides, and the paint-a-pot studio.
