Treat Map
With Halloween just around the corner, Nextdoor has announced the return of a popular feature to help families across the UK find the best streets for trick-or-treating in their local area.
Back by popular demand, the neighbourhood network has relaunched its ‘Treat Map‘, allowing people to share if they are celebrating Halloween and if other houses nearby are too. Almost all parents (96%) on Nextdoor plan to celebrate Halloween this year, platform data has revealed, and with almost two-thirds of parents (63%) planning to trick-or-treat this year, the feature couldn’t come at a better time.
From now until October 31st, users can drop a themed pin on the Treat Map for their home or local business to indicate their plans to decorate or hand out sweets for Halloween. Neighbours can also add images and text to their pins to encourage others to join in on the fun.
The Treat Map isn’t the only feature on Nextdoor helping users to celebrate. With recent data revealing that neighbours are expecting to spend, on average, a terrifying £170 on Halloween festivities, 57% more than the average consumer, users can visit the platform’s For Sale & Free section to help keep costs low. From decorations to costumes, users can access over 3.5m pre-loved items listed on For Sale and Free, with 1.5m of these being offered completely for free.
Spooktacular Halloween Adventure
“If you’re seeking the best trick-or-treating spots this Halloween, then look no further,” said Alice Skeats, spokesperson for Nextdoor UK.
“Back by popular demand, our interactive Treat Map is the ultimate tool for parents planning a spooktacular Halloween adventure with their little witches, wizards, ghosts, and ghouls.
“Our research reveals an astounding 96% of parents on Nextdoor are planning to partake in Halloween celebrations this year. So, let our Treat Map take the guesswork out of planning and be your trusty guide, leading you to the doors of friendly neighbours joining in on the spooky spirit.
“We understand Halloween isn’t for everyone, so our Treat Map also helps you respect the wishes of those who prefer a quieter evening.”
